Job Title: Horticulturist / Boat Maintenance - Company: Location: Santa Barbara, CA Description: Hello my name is Kerrigan Harms, I am certified as a Green Gardner by the City of Santa Barbara, I was born and raised here, I'm a hard working male, 27 years old and non-smoking. I love working with my hands; my experiences include having worked for Norman Beard as his foreman, in Goleta overseeing his 5-acre tropical plant nursery for nearly a year, performing just about any duty that came up, including but not limited to: -irrigation installation/repair & troubleshooting -plant fertilizing, pruning, plantings, harvesting, transplanting -machine repair and maintenance -customer assistance -home maintenance I have also worked for WelDesign landscaping/irrigation company performing many of the same functions. I am currently responsible for overseeing the care of two rental properties in Santa Barbara performing all the handyman/troubleshooting duties: -carpentry -plumbing -painting -electrical work -plantings I have also worked for Santa Barbara City College in their orchard and greenhouse performing irrigation fixes and green plant care for a semester. In the first week of December is shall complete my units at Santa Barbara City College to receive two A.S. degrees in horticulture, one in Greenhouse & Nursery operations, and the other in C-27 contracting emphasis, as well as two others in liberal arts. During these studies I have made the Presidents Honor Roll for four semesters, I have applied to Cal Poly SLO for viticulture and horticulture and I am awaiting there decision. Here are some classes of the related classes I've taken during the last 2 and a half years: -Irrigation & Garden Waterworks -Plant Propagation -Landscape Construction -Landscape Maintenance -Plant Identification -Soil & Plant Nutrients -Botany -Geology -Statistics & Trigonometry -Landscape Drafting -Spanish I have also completed restoring 3 boats in the last 2 1/2 years in the Ventura West Marina: -winch repair and restoration -metal polishing - fiberglass work -wood varnishing, wood sanding/filling/leveling -painting with two-part and water based paints. I'm used to solving problems that come up on the fly (leaky boats!)and I can start whenever you like and I would be well prepared and eager to oversee your property.
