Job Title: Irrigation Tech-Equipment Operator Company: Lost Key-WCI Communities Location: Pensacola, FL Description: Responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance and repairs of the irrigation system. Must be capable of working independently. Operates light motorized equipment and hand tools and performs related work on golf course. Essential Job Functions: Inspects system daily for any problems including troubleshooting hydraulic or electric system failures and satellite system failures. Maintains mechanical and electrical components of complex irrigation system including liquid fertilizer pumps and tanks. Checks all irrigation heads for proper coverage. Repairs equipment associated with irrigation. Maintains golf course drainage. Trims around irrigation heads, drains and pump house area. Irrigates all grounds as needed. Performs other maintenance duties as determined by the Golf Course Superintendent. Safely operates light motorized equipment such as mechanical sand rakes, weed eaters, backpack blowers, tri plex mowers, etc. Responsible for daily maintenance of sand bunkers. Trims and edges bunkers, cart paths, around lake banks and curbing as needed. Cleans and inspects machinery after each use. Reports machinery/equipment problems to supervisor. Performs sod work, distributes pine straw, trims trees and removes cuttings. Cuts grass, weeds and bushes, rakes leaves Informs supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or damage to golf course. Assists in setting up golf course for play including cup cutting, moving tee markers, and other tasks determined by the Assistant Superintendent. Other duties as assignedOther Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with set up of computer irrigation times under supervision of Superintendent or Assistant Performs tasks in compliance with established departmental safety program for employees, members and guests on course. Performs other maintenance duties as determined by the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Golf Superintendent.
