Office Assistant-Data Entry/Accounting/Payroll

Brookway Horticultural Services Inc., is a premier landscape company based in Houston, TX. With over 20 years of experience, we are a full-service firm offering exterior landscape design and maintenance, irrigation design/installation, Landscape construction/enhancement, seasonal color design and installation, interior-scapes, fertilization, weed and pest management, organic programs, Holiday/seasonal design/installation, parking lot sweeping, tree pruning and arbor care to both commercial and residential customers.

 

We are actively searching for an experienced Office Assistant with experience in payroll, HR, accounting, and administrative practices, preferably within a service-based organization. This individual will assist the BSM/Controller & GM with the above listed needs, as well as some operational administrative duties.

 

Some of the Office Assistant’s key responsibilities are:

 

  • Answer incoming phone calls with a professional, pleasant demeanor and route to the appropriate party
  • Payroll review and entry for each branch weekly
  • Process payroll completely through the direct deposit and confirm accuracy
  • Distribute weekly hours report each Monday after finishing prior week’s payroll.
  • Ensure access to time by scanning in route sheets daily to the Accounting folder
  • Ensure monthly statement match our payables from vendors
  • Pull and match statement invoices
  • Retrieve, open, and distribute mail
  • Verify and enter new hire documentation into the system
  • Act as a liaison between operations & our customer by helping facilitate communication of important tasks & projects
  • Follow up on completion of important monthly tasks & report progress(i.e. irrigation inspections & monthly site inspections)

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s/Associate degree or relevant work experience
  • Customer service experience
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Office administration experience strongly preferred
  • Detail oriented
  • Experience with Asset Landscape Business Software is a plus
  • Spanish speaking is a HUGE +

 

Benefits

This career opportunity offers a $18 - $25 hourly rate(depending on experience level), paid vacation, personal days, and other company benefits.
