With supervision by the Master Mechanic, assist in the performance of a wide variety of maintenance and repair as needed; light to heavy-duty trucks and various on-off road heavy equipment.  Respond to emergency call for service on an on-call basis and work outside normal working hours as needed. 

This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.  Must be able to lift and or move items over 50 pounds. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot day to day questions/problems regarding equipment.
•  Use hand tools and power tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance service to gasoline and diesel powered vehicles and heavy equipment.
• General shop up keep
• Pick up and deliver parts as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

• Knowledge of some diesel maintenance
• Ability to undestand and follow instructions
• Basic knowledge of automotive parts and systems
• Knowledge of  safe work practices
• Two years relevant to work experience
• California Driver's License
• Spanish a plus
• Commercial Driver's Class A not required but a plus
• Basic welding skills preferred
• Must be able to pass drug test and background check
• Must be able to provide a current Motor Vehicle Record at time of job offer.
