Job Description

DESCRIPTION: The HOUSTON office of Kudela & Weinheimer, Inc. (K&W) is seeking a FULL-TIME individual who is passionate about construction and construction methods. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic problem solver with great attention to detail and the ability to think pro-actively. The position primarily handles on-site construction observation, and supporting documentation. This individual is resourceful, self-disciplined, a problem solver and customer service driven.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Construction Management/Administration, or relevant construction experience in lieu of a degree.


DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Being the eyes in the field, solving problems and offering solutions
•Advanced Understanding of Landscape Construction Methods and Materials
•Bidding Management
•Project Document Management
•Construction Observation and Reports
•Response to RFI’s and Issue Addenda
•Periodic Construction Meeting Administration
•Contractor Invoice Review and Approval
•Change Order Review and Recommendations
•Quality Control/Quality Assurance Monitoring
•Substantial Completion Administration & Issue Punch List
•Final Inspection
•Coordinate Preparation of Record Documents (As-Builts)
•Understanding of design development and construction document (preparation of landscape irrigation plans is a PLUS).
•Detail oriented with strong organization skills.
•Ability to work well under pressure and balance multiple priorities and deadlines.
•Good communication skills and ability to keep calm in heated situations.
•Ability to travel up to 20% of time
•Willingness to work outdoors

SALARY & PERKS: Commensurate with a competitive benefits package.
