Seasonal Groundskeeper - 2025

An employee in this classification, under the direct supervision of the Grounds Maintenance Manager, is responsible for routine maintenance duties related to Parks. Employees employed with the Parks Department will be assigned to work on crews in City Parks. Work is generally performed on day shifts (7:00am-3:30pm) but may occasionally include evenings, weekends and holidays. Employees in this position are integral to maintaining the beautiful grounds of the City of Rochester Hills while providing a positive experience for Rochester Hills residents and other patrons of the Parks.
1. Ground maintenance including mowing, trimming, weeding, and digging.
2. Turf maintenance.
1. At least 18 years of age.
2. Valid Michigan Driver's License with no more than four points currently on record.
3. Acceptable Criminal History.
4. DOT medical card, or ability to obtain within 1 month.
5. Previous yard maintenance or labor experience preferred. Physical Requirements:
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 70 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling or crouching.

Oral Evaluation of Qualifications (Interview): To evaluate employment history, communication skills and other factors related to successful performance in this position. (Minimum Passing Score: 70%)

Note: Candidates for this position must pass a physical exam including drug screen.
