Job Description
Position is a member of the CAFES Facilities Operations team on the Wooster Campus; provides leadership, management and coordination of grounds maintenance operations for College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental
Sciences Wooster Campus (OARDC and Ohio State ATI); coordinates grounds maintenance services to meet the mission of CFAES Wooster campus research programs, Secrest Arboretum outreach programs, and ATI Division of Horticulture student instruction; hires, trains and evaluates full-time and seasonal groundskeepers; supervises assistant grounds manager, groundskeepers, students; manages budgetary resources to support grounds operations;
oversees and conducts various grounds operations including planting, fertilizer and pesticide application, pruning and turf management; coordinates staff training in safe operating practices for equipment used in arboriculture, horticulture and turf maintenance; oversees removal of snow and ice from campus sidewalks, entries, roads, streets, and parking lots, including management of contracted snow removal services with university approved vendors; oversees design and installation of landscapes and hardscapes for campus buildings, green areas and residences; inspects grounds for plant health issues, including disease and insect problems and nutritional deficiencies; procures plant materials, equipment, supplies and tree removal services from vendors; oversees preventive and corrective grounds maintenance equipment repair program, including supervision of unit automotive mechanic 2 position; in conjunction with arboretum curator, maintains campus portion of plant GIS inventory; maintains operations records related to time and labor; provides guidance on grounds maintenance operations to faculty, staff, students and the general public; other duties as requested to support the CFAES mission of teaching, research and outreach.
Position located in Wooster, OH.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in horticulture or agronomy. 3 years experience required.

Required Qualifications
Comprehensive experience in grounds maintenance management and an Ohio pesticide applicator license required

The salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
