JOB REQUIREMENTS: THE SALVATION ARMY North and Central Illinois DivisionWonderland Camp and Conference Center POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITIONTITLE: Groundskeeper Assistant LOCATION/DEPT: Wonderland Camp andConference Center REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager FLSA CATEGORY:Non-Exempt STATUS TYPE: TFT MISSION The Salvation Army Wonderland Campand Conference Center exists to support the ministry of the SalvationArmy by providing the opportunity to experience Christ through focusedprograms in a natural, safe, camp conference environment. OUTCOMESAssist on camp as needed in groundskeeping and other areas as needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with grounds-keepingrequirements. Will use groundskeeping equipment such as lawn mowers,weed trimmers and chainsaws. Assist with minor carpentry, log splitting,refuse removal, painting, etc. All other duties as assigned. REPORTINGRELATIONSHIPS This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. Incontacts related to this position\'s duties this individual acts as arepresentative of the Army and its mission. PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTSThis individual will be evaluated on how effectively the outcomes ofthis position are achieved, as well as the timeliness, accuracy andcompleteness of accomplishing assigned goals. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE HighSchool diploma or GED equivalent. Experience and aptitude for mechanicalwork and general construction. Experience with tools and maintenanceequipment. Valid Driver\'s License 18 years or older COMPENTENCIESAbility to accept authority. Good communication and interpersonalskills. A demonstrated ability to use initiative and be a self-starter.A positive attitude and the ability to be flexible in light of changingjob situations/priorities.
