We are currently searching for an experienced Senior Landscape Architect to support our Southeast Region located in Miami or Fort Lauderdale, FL.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture.
What you'll be doing:
Lead the design and development of landscape architecture projects including parks, urban spaces, commercial developments, and transportation corridors
Prepare and review conceptual plans, construction documents, planting plans, and specifications
Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development
Ensure compliance with Florida environmental and zoning regulations
Conduct site visits and oversee construction administration
What you need to have:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture
Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) in Florida
5+ years of professional experience in landscape architecture
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and GIS; knowledge of Civil 3D and Lumion is a plus
Strong design, graphic, and communication skills
Experience with Florida native plants, climate, and permitting processes
LEED accreditation or experience with sustainable design
Experience in public engagement and presentations
Familiarity with FDOT or municipal projects
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines.
Valid driver's license.
A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR).
