Groundskeeper - seasonal/temporary

POSITION STANDARDS * * High School / GED * Prior gardening experience preferred. * Ability to trouble shoot problems and make repairs to mechanical issues. * Valid driver's license. * Work in a positive manner with other employees and contractors. * Other assigned duties as necessary. * POSITION PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Anything listed here requires a pre-employment physical by Employee Health to determine if the employee is capable of meeting the requirements. * Physical Activity: * * Vision: Distance and near * Ability to operate Power Equipment * Ability to work from a ladder with considerate pivoting and overhead reaching * Ability to work in awkward positions for extended periods of time * Operate wheeled equipment * Ability lift weight minimum of 100 pounds. * Good physical condition, coordination, and strength is mandatory. * Upper Extremity: * Push/Pull/Lift/Carry: * PART TWO:FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY * Position Objective * Maintains the hospital grounds. Performs a variety of tasks to make outdoor space on campus visually appealing for patients and visitors to enjoy. * Performance Expectation * * Installs and maintaining landscaping features such as trees, shrubs and flower beds * Operates and maintaining basic landscaping equipment and vehicles. * Cleans picnic tables & benches * Paints sign poles/posts, as needed * Maintains the cleanliness of the campus grounds. Daily trash patrol/pickup of grounds. * Cleans and maintains equipment after use. * Participates in reliability efforts, predictive maintenance program and equipment condition audits to prevent recurring problems in facilities support equipment. (Yard equipment only) * Assists in project execution and recommend actions to improve equipment reliability. * Trouble shoots mechanical issues/problems with equipment; complete basic repairs to keep equipment working at peak levels. * Advises manager of area s needing extensive repair, example: damage to sidewalks, driveways or other paved areas which could result in safety issues. * Assists other facilities team members with tasks on as needed basis. * Other duties assigned * Area of Interest:Facilities; * Work Status:0700-1530 varied shifts; * Employment Type:Temporary; * Job ID:5460 Dartmouth Health is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
