Custodian/Groundskeeper (1 combined position)

Pickerington Local School District (PLSD) is seeking interested applicants for a Custodian/Groundskeeper position at Pickerington High School Central. This is a combined position consisting of 2 hours per day of custodial work and 6 hours per day of groundskeeping work. This is a Tuesday through Saturday work schedule, 1st shift (6am - 2:30pm) and is a 12 month position, 8-hours per day.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Previous custodial work experience preferred.
• Experience in groundskeeping, including grass cutting and shrubbery care.
• Proficiency in the layout and lining of athletic fields.
• Experience with the use and repair of mowing equipment.
• Mechanical and welding experience preferred.
• Proficiency in maintaining fences, asphalt, concrete, ceilings, playground equipment, and athletic equipment.
• Ability to repair floors, doors, and windows.
• Experience operating heating and ventilating equipment.
• Ability to read and follow basic operating instructions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 80 pounds.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful task completion.
• Ability to contribute to a safe, clean, positive, and comfortable environment.
• Ability to follow directions and a strong desire to succeed.
• Ability to work respectfully and collaboratively with peers.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents from diverse populations.
