YOUR ROLE AS A GROUNDSKEEPER

As a Groundskeeper at Mennonite Village, you will be the unsung hero behind our campus's stunning beauty and functional outdoor spaces! Your daily adventures will involve everything from mowing lush lawns and pruning vibrant trees to maintaining flower beds and keeping our walkways clean and safe. You'll master the art of landscapingtrimming, edging, and weeding like a pro, while also assisting with pest control and irrigation system upkeep. Whether it's pressure washing sidewalks, tackling debris removal, or prepping event spaces, you'll be hands-on in ensuring our community shines bright.

To thrive as a Groundskeeper at Mennonite Village, you'll need a blend of technical skills and a big heart! Being supportive of our mission is key, as you'll engage with elderly individuals daily. Effective communication is vitalboth in following instructions and connecting empathetically with residents. You'll need strong organizational skills and self-motivation to manage your tasks efficiently.

Proficiency using various tools and technology will help you execute your duties effectively. Patience, tact, and a positive attitude are essential for navigating daily challenges and fostering teamwork. You'll be moving around our beautiful campus regularly. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing technology essential for executing assigned job duties.

Promote teamwork, mutual respect, and effective communication.

Skilled in accurately documenting completed work orders.

Safely operate a motor vehicle with a valid Oregon driver's license.

Lift 25lbs and occasionally lift 100lbs.

Reach overhead; possess normal sight/hearing senses.

Perform physical movements such as bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, sitting, walking, reaching, crawling, twisting, climbing ladders, and overhead lifting as needed.

Ability to work outdoors all year and in all weather.

Must be 18 years or older

Criminal background check is required for new hires. Mennonite Village is a drug-free workplace. In addition, information may be obtained through the Driver and Motor Vehicle Services Division (DMV), court records, and other states' data systems. Fingerprints may be required as part of the check.
