Montgomery Parks is seeking a Garden of Lights Installer to assist in the installation, repair, operation, and take down of lights and fabricated forms for the Gardens of Lights winter light show at Brookside Gardens.
This part-time position is from August 2025 through mid-March 2026. This position pays at a rate of $17.69 per hour up to 40 hours per week.
Throughout the year, Brookside Gardens hosts more than 1,000,000 visitors, many at engaging programs and events for children and adults, including the summer live butterfly exhibit and winter light display. Installs lights on trees and shrubs daily August-November
Safely uses ladders daily and can work from heights
Works nights as a ticket scanner, parking attendant, or show monitor from mid-November through early-January
Uses iPhone-based check-in system to scan and redeem tickets
Evening and weekend work required from mid-November through early-January, when the show is running and open to the public
Takes down and stores the entire show from January through mid-March
Important Skills and Characteristics
Knowledge of electricity, amperage loads, tools, and equipment preferred
Outstanding work ethic with great attention to detail
Ability to accurately follow detailed instructions for a wide variety of tasks
Punctual and reliable
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of highly collaborative team
Works well in stressful situations
Ability to operate motorized carts with trailers
Minimum Qualifications
Specialized training and experience is necessary for those jobs requiring specialized equipment operation in grounds and facility maintenance, specialized program leadership and supervision, technical clerical activities, etc.
