Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team. This is a full-time, year-round position responsible for performing general maintenance, groundskeeping, and repair work to support the safe and efficient operation of school district buildings and outdoor areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, repair and maintain motorized equipment.
- Perform general building and grounds maintenance tasks individually or as part of a team.
- Maintain and care for landscaped areas, including mowing, trimming, and seasonal upkeep.
- Lining of Sports fields. Gate and fence repair.
- Maintain and repair parking lots, including crack filling, seal coating, and pothole repair.
- Safely operate construction equipment, vehicles, and maintenance machinery.
- Read and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve department goals and meet project deadlines.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with staff and contractors.
- Perform duties in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, or snow.
Qualifications:
- Mechanically inclined.
- Prior experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general facilities maintenance preferred.
- Valid New Jersey Driver's License required.
- Black Seal License must be obtained within two years from the date of hire.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting Salary: $45,463
- Benefits: Eligible for family medical, prescription, and dental coverage. Includes vacation and sick leave.
- Contract: 12-month position; represented by the MOPS Bargaining Unit and NJEA.
