Roles and Responsibilities:
Meet with the Account Manager to discuss client expectations and specific tasks for all sites.
Learn each job-site requirement.
Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, and seasonal maintenance activities (e.g., mowing, pruning, irrigation, fertilization).
Safely operate all landscape maintenance equipment according to state and federal laws. Train crew members safe operation of equipment.
Enforce safety procedures and ensure crews adhere to OSHA and company safety standards.
Conduct or coordinate safety meetings and training sessions.
Respond to and document any incidents or accidents.
Conduct safety checks of trucks and trailers before leaving the yard. Supervise and assist crew members with loading and unloading lawn equipment, soils, mulch, and tools needed for each day.
Ensure all work meets company quality standards and client expectations.
Learn and follow the equipment maintenance process.
Drive truck and trailer.
Maintain accurate records of work completed, crew hours, and materials used.
Quickly assess and resolve on-site problems, including weather disruptions, staff shortages, or equipment failures.
Make informed decisions to ensure work continues efficiently without compromising quality.
Wear uniforms provided and present a professional appearance.
Report to work on time every day.
Qualifications:
18 years or older.
Ability to legally work in the U.S.
Required: 5 - 7years commercial/residential landscape maintenance experience.
Required: State of Washington Driver's License.
Required: Ability to communicate and give direction in English or Spanish.
Must have an advanced level of understanding in lawn maintenance equipment operation: mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, etc.
Must have good knowledge of hand pruning shrubs and small trees.
Must have common PNW plant identification.
Must have the ability to perform manual labor, raking, mulching, weeding, debris pick up and removal, and have a full range of motion.
Must be able to work well with others and be part of a team.
Must be able to identify problems on the properties and take steps to resolve issues.
Prefer knowledge of plant installations, soil conditioning, and small enhancement work.
Prefer State of Washington Pesticide License or ability to obtain one in the first 90 days.
Physical Requirements:
An ability to lead by example and direct a crew of maintenance personnel, with the ability to train.
Ability to see at close vision, distant vision, and in color.
Frequent standing for extended periods, walking frequently, crawling, and sitting.
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Able to extensively handle and move materials and perform physical activities- Using hands, arms, legs in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
Ability to work extended hours and in inclement weather.
Frequent twisting of the torso and bending at the waist.
Must be able to crawl on hands and knees on uneven ground.
Must be able to safely use power tools, picks, and shovels.
