Job Details:

Pay: $17.70/hr

3rd Shift: 10:00 p.m. 6:30 a.m. Monday-Friday

SUMMARY : This position is responsible for general building and equipment maintenance inclusive of snow removal in the winter and other seasonal landscaping tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

  • General repair and maintenance of building, forklifts, pallet jacks, company vehicles, and all other equipment or buildings owned by the company
  • Maintain company grounds inclusive of snow/ice removal, lawn work throughout the year
  • Maintenance and safe operation of company vehicles
  • Repair and replacement of facility lighting
  • Repair of facility plumbing needs
  • Trash removal from the facility
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the maintenance shop
  • Sweeping of the parking lot
  • Maintain the bone yard and inventory if needed
  • Assist with roof repairs and clean-up
  • All other essential duties as directed by the Maintenance Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to carry out essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, within safety guidelines
  • Ability to operate vehicles efficiently, within safety guidelines
  • Ability to efficiently use hand tools and trades type tools, to provide maintenance of facility as required
  • Good mechanic background required
  • General knowledge of vehicle maintenance including preventative and scheduled maintenance.
  • Good plumbing skills
  • General knowledge of electrical and lighting
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Associates degree or equivalent in mechanical trade preferred

Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate within the department and understand directions
  • Must be able to maintain records and communicate well

Physical Requirements / Environment:

  • Stand/Walk: Continuously
  • Lift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs), Occasionally (up to 35-50 lbs.)
  • Other Physical Requirements:
    • Frequently; bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (up to 2 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp
    • Continuously; working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language in order to maintain records and communicate well

External Requirement: Must have a minimum of 6-month work experience. Facility maintenance and/or automotive mechanic experience is preferred and must be documented in the work history section of the application.

Rehire Consideration:

  • Max of two (2) previous Tyson Employments to be considered for hire.
  • 90 days (3 months) waiting period.
