Horticulture Crew Leader - Seasonal

S ummary

Typical shift is Monday-Friday, 630 am - 230 pm , 40 hours per week . May adjust slightly due to weather conditions.

Under t he supervision of the Horticulturist , the employee in this position is responsible f or landscape maintenance and leading crews in assigned areas . Responsibilities include hands-on landscape upkeep, operating equipment, and teamwork. This role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions and is physically demanding .

Job Responsibilities

-Perform routine landscape maintenance (including, but not limited to, mowing, weeding, watering, planting, pruning, & mulching)
-Safely operate landscape equipment (including push mowers, edgers/line trimmers, blowers, rototillers, tractors, tow trailers, & utility trucks) -Maintain cleanliness and functionality of the work area, tools, vehicles, & equipment -Participate in seasonal landscape installations & transplanting projects -Assist with leaf collection and other cleanup projects -Effectively lead crews to meet project completion schedules on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis under the guidance of the Horticulturist -Train and educate laborer staff to increase their knowledge of landscape maintenance -Perform related duties and tasks as assigned -Will be responsible for refueling of vehicles/machines (safe and proper handling of diesel, 2-stroke, unleaded, etc ).

Qualifications

- One year of relevant experience, which may include manual labor, landscaping, or gardening

- Team leader or supervisory experience preferred

- Good verbal and written communication skills

- Adaptable and flexible to changing schedules and priorities

- Valid driver's license with a good driving record

- Ab ility to lift up to 30 lbs.; twist, turn, and bend/stoop repeatedly

- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions - Must pass all pre-employment requirements, including a criminal background check, physical, and drug screen
