BASIC FUNCTION:

The Groundskeeper is responsible for performing general maintenance, including the installation and repair of irrigation systems, and gardening work at assigned school site(s) for District. .

The Groundskeeper works closely with specific staff to perform a variety of general grounds, gardening, installation and maintenance duties in the upkeep of assigned site(s) and related areas.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

Plants, cultivates, prunes, shapes, trims and waters trees, shrubs, hedges andplants

Plants, fertilizers, waters, mows, edges and cares for lawns

Operates hand and power tools and equipment including power mowers, edgers,trimmers, blowers and other grounds maintenance equipment/tools

Uses hand tools to work soil and to remove weeds, undergrowth and debris fromschool grounds and landscape areas

Keeps school grounds clean; operates backpack blower, sweeps walks, and pickups paper, rubbish and other debris

Hoes and rakes weeds, leaves, grass clippings

Assists in the installation, maintenance and repair of sprinklers and sprinkler systems as assigned

Drivers a pickup truck, tractor and/or flare mower as assigned
