Job Description

Position Title: Utility Crew

FLSA: Non Exempt

Reports To: Utility Foreman and Supervisor of Maintenance

Beginning: July 1, 2026

Terms of Employment: A full contract for this position is 240 days, with benefits as specified in employee contract. Contract will be prorated based on actual start date.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED.

Valid Driver's License.

Commercial / light industrial preferred.

Arkansas Pesticide Applicator License from the Arkansas State Plant board preferred.

Custodial experience preferred.

Lawn care experience preferred.

Ability to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height occasionally.

Ability to push/pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Repair playground equipment and school furniture.

Perform substitute custodial duties as requested by supervisor.

Must be able to use hand tools and power tools to landscape school yards (i.e., lawn mower, weed trimmer, chainsaw) and other equipment and duties as required.

Maintain equipment.

Adhering to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others. This includes using personal protective equipment (PPE), following proper procedures for handling hazardous materials, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Be available for occasional non-work-day emergencies.

Maintains prompt and regular attendance

Must be willing to work overtime or after hours whenever needed.

Ability to maintain emotional control under stress.

Must be able to work independently, sometimes with minimal supervision.

Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisors and district administration.

Maintain a professional relationship with students, faculty,administration, and community patrons.

Ability to perform physical labor in hot and cold outdoor environments.

Ability to climb up and down ladders of various heights.

Other duties as assigned by administration.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Ability to endure prolonged standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, occasional reaching above the head or the shoulders, bending, squatting.
