Grounds Keeper - Facilities

Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of Groundskeeper - Facilities. Work is performed under the direction of the Facilities Technical Coordinator. A Groundskeepers is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the exterior of facilities by mowing and edging lawns, and transplanting, cutting and trimming trees, shrubs and ground cover.

Primary Functions

• Appling herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers and other chemicals.
• Installing and maintaining irrigation systems by making necessary repairs to electrical wiring and plumbing and programming digital controllers.
• Performing maintenance duties by operating heavy equipment including backhoes, front-end loaders, as well as tractor-mounted trenchers, tillers, and sprayers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Class C Drivers License with an acceptable driving record.
• Previous experience with various forms of lawn equipment such as weed-eaters is preferred.

Candidates must be able to pass a post offer, pre-employment physical (POPP), a Functional Physical Capacity Assessment (FPCA), a drug screen, and a background check, when required. Must be able to pass physical fitness test to be eligible for hire.
