Landscape Maintenance Technician – Sioux Falls, SD
ScheduleFull-time seasonal position (spring through fall) Typical daytime hours Monday–Friday with occasional weekend work based on weather, seasonal workload, and customer needs.
The RoleThe Landscape Maintenance Technician helps maintain the appearance and health of outdoor properties through seasonal cleanups, landscape maintenance, and plant care. This role works closely with a team to complete landscaping projects efficiently and safely while providing quality service to customers. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys outdoor work, takes pride in hands-on tasks, and is willing to learn landscaping and plant care skills.
What You’ll Do- Perform spring and fall cleanups including pruning, trimming, leaf removal, and debris cleanup
- Maintain landscape beds through weeding, mulching, watering, and general upkeep
- Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, and other landscape materials as needed
- Operate landscaping equipment such as trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and sprayers safely and efficiently
- Support fertilizer and pesticide applications following company procedures and safety guidelines
- Monitor plant health and report weeds, pests, or landscape concerns
- Drive company vehicles to residential and commercial job sites
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and equipment
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to safely use hand tools and landscaping equipment
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Willingness to learn landscaping and plant care practices
- Willingness to obtain a South Dakota Pesticide Applicator License after hire
- Previous landscaping, lawn care, groundskeeping, horticulture, or outdoor labor experience
- Experience operating landscaping equipment and tools
- Experience driving trucks and trailers
- Basic knowledge of plants, shrubs, weeds, and landscape maintenance practices
- Existing South Dakota Pesticide Applicator License
