Under the direct supervision of the Supervising Groundskeeper II, C.F., and general direction from the Correctional Plant Supervisor, this entry level position will complete required gardening and general grounds maintenance work, maintain order and supervise the conduct of incarcerated persons. Monitors all areas of building and grounds for the presence of vertebrate and invertebrate pests and eliminates such pests through use of equipment, chemicals, and procedures as may be necessary. All personnel are subject to call backs and may be required to work overtime after hours, weekends, and holidays. If an emergency arises and no other qualified personnel are available, you may be redirected to respond and make the necessary repairs. Effective July 1, 2025 , the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires that each full-time employee receives a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027.
