As a Mechanic, you will help maintain, diagnose, and repair the vehicles and equipment that support our landscaping operations. This role is critical to keeping trucks, trailers, and landscaping equipment running safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and supporting daily field operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced with small engines, diesel or gas vehicles, and commercial landscaping equipment.

Responsibilities:

Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers, and other small enginesPerform maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles such as trucks, trailers, and utility vehiclesConduct preventative maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend asset lifeTroubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine-related issuesMaintain accurate maintenance and repair recordsCoordinate equipment repairs and schedules with operations and field supervisorsEnsure all equipment meets safety standards and company policiesManage tools, parts inventory, and shop organizationIdentify equipment issues proactively and recommend repairs or replacementsFollow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environmentRepairing and servicing a fleet of mixed manufacturers and types.Ensuring that all vehicles and equipment operate efficiently and safely.Providing updates to leadership and field staff as requested.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent3+ years of experience as a mechanic, equipment technician, or similar roleStrong knowledge of small engine repair and mechanical diagnosticsExperience performing preventative maintenance and repairsAbility to work independently and manage multiple repair prioritiesPhysical ability to lift heavy equipment and perform hands-on workValid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailValid Florida Driver's License and the ability to pass an MVR check.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

Experience working in landscaping, construction, agriculture, or field service industriesExperience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, or weldingFamiliarity with commercial landscaping equipment brands and fleet vehiclesSmall engine or automotive certification (ASE or equivalent preferred)Basic electrical troubleshooting experienceBilingual (English/Spanish) communication skillsStrong organizational and time-management skillsInterest in long-term growth within fleet management or operations supportGas and Diesel engine experience is a must, especially with Ford and GM models.Heavy duty diesel experience is desirable, such as International, Freightliner, Peterbilt, etc.Heavy equipment knowledge is desirable, especially with Caterpillar, John Deere, Bobcat and other various manufacturers.Welding experience is highly desirable.Small engine and two cycle experience are desirable.Valid CDL license is a plus!
