Parks Seasonal Technician

As a Parks Seasonal Technician for the City of Twin Falls, you will play an important role in maintaining the parks, athletic fields, and outdoor recreation areas that residents and visitors enjoy every day. This position helps ensure that our parks and facilities remain clean, safe, and well-maintained throughout the busy recreation season.

In this hands-on role, you will work under the direction of Parks staff to assist with maintaining park grounds, preparing athletic fields, operating landscaping equipment, and supporting daily operations within the Parks and Recreation Department. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and contributing to the quality of life in the Twin Falls community.

The City of Twin Falls is currently hiring multiple Parks Seasonal Technicians. This posting will remain open until all positions have been filled.

Description

As a Parks Seasonal Technician, you will:

• Prepare and maintain athletic fields for city and league recreational sports
• Assist with mowing, trimming, and maintaining park grounds and landscaped areas
• Load, unload, and transport tools, equipment, materials, and supplies to job sites
• Collect debris in parks, athletic fields, courts, parking lots, and other City-owned properties and transport materials to disposal sites
• Monitor park grounds, equipment, and amenities and report safety concerns or repair needs to supervisors
• Clean park facilities and help ensure parks remain safe and welcoming for the public
• Operate landscaping equipment and tools safely and efficiently
• Assist with general maintenance tasks and seasonal projects
• Interact with park visitors in a courteous and professional manner while providing excellent customer service
• Assist with other duties as assigned within the Parks and Recreation Department

Pay

• $16.50 per hour
• Seasonal hourly position (typically 6-8 months depending on operational needs)

Required Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying materials
• Ability to operate landscape equipment and tools safely
• Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

Work Environment

This position primarily works outdoors in parks and recreation areas and may involve exposure to heat, cold, wind, rain, and other weather conditions. Work includes physical labor such as lifting equipment, operating landscaping tools, and walking or standing for extended periods.
