Maintenance Foreman/Forewoman

Sequoia Landscape Services is a reputable landscaping company based in North Vancouver that focuses on the installation and maintenance of outdoor spaces for high end residential homes and strata properties. We are looking for hard working, dedicated and creative people to join our team!

*Required Qualifications:
Valid Class 5 Drivers License with a clean driving record
High level of native BC plant ID and an in depth knowledge of seasonal garden requirements
Minimum of 1-2 years leadership experience with a comprehensive knowledge of assigned duties and responsibilities
Time Management skills - stick to set schedules and timelines on site
Proficient with a variety of equipment, materials, and hand/electric tools such as lawnmowers, pruners, hedgers, etc.
Reliable, Punctual & Honest
Demonstrate common sense, ability to think logically and be proactive
Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and time tracking

*Assets (not required but great to have):
Applicable certification (ie. Red Seal)
Ability to read and interpret drawings/renderings, blueprints and specifications
First Aid training

*Description of Your Duties (what you get paid for):
Lead a small team to perform required tasks: gardening, pruning, planting, mowing, line trimming, hedging, blowing, spreading mulch, etc.
Complete seasonal garden maintenance requirements
Provide progress reports including client concerns, problems, delays, etc. to management (we want to know how your day went)
Work as part of a team and delegate tasks to crew members to assist in the completion of duties within the estimated time frames and budgets (make sure everyone is following your direction and contributing to the same outcome)
Coordinate with Management to facilitate job actions, installations, deliveries and daily responsibilities (tell us what you need in order to make your job easier).
Maintain a friendly and personable attitude (no explanation needed I hope).
Communicate effectively with crews and clients, ensuring a high level of customer service (be polite and engage with clients when they want to chat).
Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety Standards (use that common sense - getting injured hurts the whole team).
Remain flexible with scheduling/site placements and willingness to work in variable weather conditions (it rains in North Vancouver).
Attend meetings approved with Management (there's usually coffee).
