Log Yard Supervisor

Weyerhaeuser Company is seeking a Frontline Leader for our Badham export facility in Cottageville, South Carolina. As a Log Yard Supervisor, you will lead safety and environmental performance, oversee daily operations, and support a team of hourly operators. This salaried, exempt role reports to the Export Manager.

Key Functions:

• Lead by example in safety, including accident prevention, near-miss reporting, safety meetings, audits, inspections, and participation in the Health & Safety Program.

• Supervise and support the team by resolving issues, fostering teamwork, and ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures.

• Ensure all site environmental program requirements are met.

• Develop team capabilities to achieve operational excellence in safety, reliability, cost, and quality while meeting customer expectations.

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily production and maintenance activities, including work with vendors and contractors.

• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management.

• Manage administrative responsibilities using systems such as Outlook, Microsoft Suite Programs (Word, Excel and etc), Payroll System, and other company specific computer programs and systems.

• Coordinate inbound log flow, yard processing, and outbound container shipping with internal teams and external partners.

• Bachelor's degree in forestry, Marketing, Business, Maintenance, or related field with 3 years of relevant experience, OR 10 years of related experience.

• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.

• Demonstrated commitment to safety, with knowledge of industrial safety practices and OSHA requirements.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other computer systems.

• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple activities and priorities.

• Knowledge of container shipping/exporting operations.

• Strong initiative, problem-solving ability, and innovation mindset.

• Exceptional communication skills - written, oral, and listening.

• Excellent teamworking skills.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing a Log Yard.

• Experience managing an hourly workforce.

• 5 years of leadership experience.

• Experience with UKG.

What We Offer:

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $82,533-$123,800 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 7% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.

Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our contribution equal to 5% of your eligible pay.

Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
