GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to perform manual unskilled to semi-skilled labor for the general maintenance and repairs of LFUCG water quality facilities, equipment, grounds and roads.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- No experience required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform routine ground maintenance at water quality facilities, including mowing, trimming, edging, pruning, weeding, mulching, planting, and general landscaping tasks
- Maintain site cleanliness and safety by removing litter, debris, and invasive vegetation from plant perimeters, stormwater channels, roadsides, fences, and sidewalks
- Carry out basic facility upkeep by replacing light bulbs, batteries, ceiling tiles, other small building components, and perform minor repairs, as needed
- Operate and perform basic upkeep on mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other equipment while following safety and regulatory guidelines
- Performs routine custodial and cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, and maintaining common areas, storage rooms, and workspaces
- Supports seasonal and emergency response snow and ice removal, storm cleanup, and facility readiness
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be accessible for on-call duty and be able to work weekends and holidays as assigned and during emergencies.
- Some positions may be required to perform snow removal duties during weather emergencies.
- Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.
- All positions require drug testing before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
