Professional work involving the care and maintenance of ornamental and landscaping improvements related to the County-owned Mounts Botanical Garden. Responsible for demonstrating horticultural best practices, showcasing horticultural excellence, delivering an educational program, and enhancing the visitor experience through the installation and maintenance of aesthetic garden displays and landscapes. Responsible for the installation, calibration, and maintenance of irrigation systems. Work is performed under the general supervision of an administrative superior and is reviewed through conferences, reports, and observation of results achieved. Reports to the Horticultural Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following:
- Bachelor's Degree in Horticulture, Botany, or related field; minimum of one (1) year of experience in landscaping care,
OR
- Related Associate's Degree/unrelated Bachelor's Degree; minimum of three (3) years of experience in landscaping care,
OR
- Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of five (5) years of experience in landscaping care.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience supervising landscaping activities,
- Training in pest control and fertilizers,
- Green Industries Best Management Practices (GI-BMP) Certification, and
- Professional Landscaping Maintenance Certification.

Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
