Position Summary:

Assist the grounds crew with the care and upkeep of the grounds at St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone

Responsibilities include:

• C are and upkeep of the lawns and landscaping
• Care and upkeep of the roads, parking areas and sidewalks including snow removal and ice control
• Empty outdoor trash containers and keep trash and other debris picked up around the grounds

• Maintain all tools, equipment and vehicles in proper condition

• Regular scheduled fleet maintenance on all vehicles

• Attend in-service training and education sessions as assigned

• Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; possess a valid NYS driver’s license

Able and willing to learn to operate lawn and snow and ice control equipment; able to work with and take direction from others and to learn and improve weaknesses; self-motivated with the initiative to undertake and efficiently complete assigned tasks; good customer service skills

Physical Requirements:

Walking, lifting, kneeling, shoveling, bending and climbing ladders - operating machinery in varied weather

Exposure to Conditions:

Working in extreme weather conditions; operating lawn and snow removal

equipment; exposed to dirt, dust, grease, oil, chemicals and noise; working on machinery; climbing ladders
