Handyman/Grounds Keeper

un Handyman/Grounds Keeper (Randle) compensation: $20.00/ hr employment type: experience level: entry level job title: Handyman/Grounds Keeper I'm currently hiring 1-2 people for working as a Handyman(or woman)/ Grounds Keeper for my mini farm in Randle. I'm looking for someone who is responsible, knows time management, has their own transportation, can communicate well that wants to work. The jobs I have going are as follows but keep in mind, its a farm and things do change on a dime daily. That being said, jobs consist of * working with farm animals on occasion, cleaning farm stalls/pens, moving animals from here to there, using a riding mower to mow property, using a field trimmer to clear brush, trimming fruit trees, watering organic gardens, planting trees, removing dead growth, doing controlled burns of foliage, clearing overgrowth, painting structures, falling trees, bucking wood, fixing fences, working with irrigation, working with plumbing, working with electrical, doing minor repairs to electrical and plumbing, fixing farm implements, tractors and equipment, servicing equipment, harvesting food from gardens, groundskeeper duties, working with hired skilled techs on projects as an assistant to them, managing and overseeing farm projects and being able to see and notice issues to deal with before they become a problem. The above just outlines some of the things we do on the farm. Every day presents itself with its own to do list. Some things are ongoing and are done weekly. While other things pop up as life happens. I pay $20/hr for 1 day a week that's guaranteed. The hours can increase as need increases and your reliability is established. There is more opportunity during the summer versus the winter. Currently, this is not meant to be a "living wage" type job. This will most likely not turn into a full time job. Notice I did not say Never, but said it will most likely not....things change and in the future I may need to turn it into a full time position. Right now is not that time. But, you could use this time to get established here and see what it presents later. I do give bonuses for achievements and Holidays, on occasion I do provide meals on the fire pit. During harvest, employees are able to harvest their own food to take home as well. This is a good job if you need to fill in a few hours to make your 40 hr/week requirement after working your real part time job elsewhere. Or maybe you need a job away from the house for a few hours while the kids are in school. Or maybe you are new to the area and need to establish local employment for adding it to your resume.
