Love fresh air and staying active? This could be the perfect fit for you! The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintenance, care, and modification of 7 Cedars grounds and landscapes. Trim, edge, cut lawn, and prune shrubs and trees. Spray fertilizer or insecticides and remove litter. Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs. Clean out drainage ditches and culverts, and shovel snow. This position requires the use of electrically powered and gasoline-powered equipment and machines, and the use of small hand and power tools or equipment in planting, cultivating, and trimming grounds and landscaping. The Groundskeeper also performs maintenance on groundskeeping equipment and tools and makes minor repairs within demonstrated capability as directed by management. Work is performed primarily outdoors.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**

- Cut lawns using hand mower or power mower

- Trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls; prune shrubs and trees

- Spray lawn, shrubs, trees with fertilizer or insecticide

- Clean and sweep up litter and leaves

- Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs

- Clean drainage ditches and culverts

- Maintain irrigation systems

- Maintain equipment

- Shovel snow from walks and driveways

- Move furniture and paint when necessary

- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned

- Must follow all safety rules and regulations

- Follow all general and department policies and procedures

**QUALIFICATIONS**

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

- One (1) year gardening experience, either self-employed or with a nursery or private company preferred

- Supervisory experience preferred

- Must understand how pesticides and herbicides work

- WA state pesticide license preferred or ability to obtain license within one year

- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding how irrigation systems work

- Six (6) months experience with backhoe or excavator

- Working knowledge of equipment maintenance including blade sharpening, engine maintenance, etc.

- Must possess outstanding interpersonal communications skills to effectively interface with guests and/or team members

- Strong organization, prioritization and multiple-tasking skills

- Strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality

- Highly adaptable with the ability to adjust to change in a positive manner

- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
