Cemetery Tractor Operator

Job Overview:

The Tractor Operator will support Aptim Federal Services Cemetery at Ft. Moore by operating Farm Tractors with attachments. The Operator will be expected to use equipment to excavate, load, move dirt or other material in preparation for burial services. The operator must be able to maneuver efficiently and safely through tight areas within the Cemetery. Aside from equipment operation, this position will require daily duties of maintaining the cemetery grounds to include mowing of the lawn, weed eating, headstone maintenance and installation, weed control, vermin control, sod installation, wall maintenance, landscaping, driveway maintenance, grounds maintenance, and any other duties as assigned. Applicants should display in-depth knowledge of work processes and grounds maintenance tools to properly support the Cemetery.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Daily time entry.
• Operation of Tractor equipment.
• Daily Maintenance of the Cemetery Grounds.
• Ensure equipment is in the best working condition by conducting daily inspections, equipment greasing, minor repairs, and cleaning equipment daily.
• Ability to communicate appropriately with visiting families as needed.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have at least 3 years of experience being a Tractor Operator
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Valid State Driver's License
• Meet requirements for: pre-employment physical, drug screening, background check, and MVR check (MVR points are subject to company policy)

Wage Rates & Union Benefits

Wage rates and fringe benefits for this position are governed by terms of a collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between the company and a union with jurisdiction for the job location.

CBAs for union projects typically include a retirement plan (such as a pension, annuity, or 401(k)), health insurance (e.g., medical, dental, vision), and other benefits. APTIM pays the costs for some fringe benefit plans for employees working on union projects. Under some CBAs, however, you may be required to contribute a percentage of your wages toward the cost of these benefits.

Additionally, you may also qualify for paid sick leave, paid holidays, paid vacation, and supplemental insurance plans (e.g., life, short-term disability, long-term disability). The CBA contains the terms and conditions of eligibility as well as information about any costs to you.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $21.79 per hour.
