Position Description Advertised Job Summary The Groundskeeper is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of outdoor areas to ensure a clean, attractive, and functional environment. Duties include mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, watering landscapes, and maintaining outdoor features such as fences, fountains, and furniture. This role plays a key part in preserving the appearance and usability of the institution's exterior spaces. Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience Typically holds a high school diploma or GED. Requires no prior work experience. Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Knowledge of plant care, gardening, lawn maintenance, weeding and pest control. General knowledge of grounds maintenance and landscaping. Proficiency in operating various landscaping equipment. Attention to detail to ensure a well-kept appearance of the grounds. Must be able to complete physically demanding work that requires bending, lifting, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to identify and resolve issues related to grounds maintenance. Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team. Power wash parking lots and buildings. Paint and maintain curbs and parking areas. Maintain outdoor seating areas, patios, courts, etc. Upkeep of vehicles to include washing, checking tire pressure, and cleaning the inside.
