Preferred Qualifications Job Description Summary The University of South Alabama's Grounds department is seeking to hire a Groundskeeper III . Interested candidates should apply to be considered. Essential Functions These are the job duties required of the position. Essential Functions Performs routine and specialized groundskeeping functions. Mows and edges lawns and turf areas. Removes grass clippings, leaves, pine needles, trash and debris from lawns and landscape areas. Prunes shrubbery and trees. Plants and mulches shrubs, trees and flowers. Installs stakes and guys on trees, as required. Applies irrigation water on trees, shrubs and flowers. Applies fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides and fungicides to lawns, trees, shrubs and flowers. Operates a variety of grounds maintenance tools and equipment. Loads and unloads bags of fertilizer, peat, moss and other materials up to 60 lbs. Sweeps streets, driveways and parking lots. Operates a variety of pickup trucks and other trucks, including water tanker. Maintains and calibrates equipment as required. Installs and repairs irrigation systems. Performs safe operation of farm and garden tractors with associated attached equipment. Regular and prompt attendance. Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required Related duties as required.
