Manager Jobs in New York

A Manager in the landscaping industry oversees all aspects of landscaping projects. Their responsibilities include planning and designing landscapes, estimating costs, supervising staff, ensuring safety procedures are followed, and coordinating with clients. They must ensure that all landscaping workmanship is of the highest quality and completed on schedule. Managers are also responsible for administrative tasks such as hiring, scheduling, training, and budgeting. Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, and leadership skills are crucial for this role.

Before becoming a Manager, a person might have roles such as a Landscape Designer, Landscape Technician, or a Landscape Supervisor. These roles provide valuable hands-on experience and technical knowledge necessary for management positions. A manager in the landscaping industry should preferably have certification such as a Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) or Certified Landscape Technician (CLT). A degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, or a related field can also be beneficial. A good understanding of plant materials, design, and construction, and a familiarity with computer software for design and scheduling are also necessary.
