Landscape Construction Foreman

Qualifications:

• 5 – 7 years of hands-on experience in the landscape industry, preferably with a design/build landscape construction company.
• Extensive experience with natural and manufactured landscape materials used in custom built retaining walls, patios, walkways, steps, firepits, seating walls, outdoor kitchens, water features, rock and wood groundcover, and related products.
• Extensive experience in the installation and management of plants and botanicals, drainage systems, irrigation systems, landscape lighting and landscape art.
• Advanced skills with moderate to heavy commercial equipment such as landscape dump trucks, platform and dump trailers, skid steers, track loaders, excavators, trenchers, compaction equipment, concrete and masonry saws, jack hammers, hammer drills and hand tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required, bilingual preferred (English, Spanish).
• 3+ years prior supervisory experience required with teams of 2 or more.
• Willingness to learn and implement Fredell Enterprises techniques while bringing your own great skills and experience to the table.
• Highly reliable, dependable and motivated.
• Mature time management skills and ability to prioritize.
• Ability to ramp up independent leadership of a crew in 4-6 weeks.
• Ability to safely and repeatedly lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Must have a valid driver’s license (CDL not required), reliable transportation and be able to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities:

• Managing a team of 3-6 crew members, including coaching, training, developing staff, plus proactively training and reinforcing safety and quality standards.
• Accurately read, interpret and implement landscape architecture designs and construction blueprints.
• Manage transport of project materials to and from job sites safely utilizing company vehicles and equipment.
• Provide active training and supervision for the operation of landscape equipment by crew members.
• Train, supervise and enforce the best practice use of the proper tools for each respective task.
• In partnership with Project Managers and Landscape Architects, coordinate the staging and execution of large scale landscape construction projects incorporating multiple complex features, custom and prefabricated products, leveraging advanced skills, techniques and creativity.
• Actively working alongside the team and crew, delegating and demonstrating Fredell Enterprises high quality techniques and work standards.
• Providing excellent service to all clients including communicating professionally and clearly while acting as the face of the company to current and potential customers.
• Exercising authority and decisiveness to make and implement decisions impacting project design, execution and implementation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday – Friday with opportunities for overtime.
