Gardener II at Saratoga Union Elementary Print Application Deadline Until Filled Date Posted 4/17/2026 Contact Kym Imai ... 504 Number of Openings 1 Salary Pay Range $35.13 - $44.83 Per Hour Add'l Salary Info Step 1-6 depending on experience Length of Work Year 12 months Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary Facilities Description: Three elementary, one middle school and the district office Organizational Overview: Under direct supervision of Director of Maintenance and Operations, performs general duties related to maintenance of grounds and operation of related equipment Representative Duties and Responsibilities: Depending on assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to the following: * Maintains ground around all district buildings to provide for a clean appearance * Hauls trash as needed * Inspects, adjusts and repairs irrigation systems to ensure proper operation * Plants trees, grass and shrubs, hand sprays for control of weeds, diseases and insects; waters, prunes and fertilizes trees, lawns, shrubs; rakes leaves and lawns and mows as necessary * Operates riding mower and small mowers, edgers, sweepers, rototillers, blower, hedge trimmers, seed spreaders and aerators; performs routine maintenance on assigned equipment to assure safe operating conditions; reports need for equipment repair. * Assists in preparing grounds for special events; reviews grounds for possible safety hazards; makes necessary alterations to remove hazards Qualifications: * Reading and written comprehension of the English Language * Valid California driver's license and a good driving record * Pass pre-employment physical Through knowledge of: * Care and use of all equipment related to maintenance of grounds * Procedures required to maintain good general appearance of all grounds Ability to: * Work cooperatively with others * Follow oral and written directions * Perform moderately heavy manual tasks, lifting 20 pounds continually and fifty pounds frequently.
