Irrigation Technician
Location: National Frozen Foods Corporation - Chehalis, WA
May work at multiple Chehalis field and plant locations
Position Description: Starts seasonal with potential for post season employment. Responsible for the tending and upkeep of the irrigation site, along with equipment maintenance and grounds keeping.
Starting Pay: $21.35 - $26.30 per hour depending on experience
Schedule: During the harvest season - availability required for varying shifts, overtime (as requested), some holidays and weekends. Starts seasonal with potential for post season employment.
Benefits: Employee Assistance Program and paid sick leave. Upon qualifying, eligible 401k + matching.
Specific Job Tasks: Including, but not limited to:
Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Drive tractor to move water guns and hoses
Load and unload irrigation pipe
Drive tractors to mow fields, brush hogging
Work with minimal supervision
Run weed eater and fix fences
Maintain daily logs
Skills and Qualifications
Possess a current valid Washington state driver's license
An ability to work independently and in group settings
Possess a very strong attendance and personnel record
Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Ability to multitask as well as manage changing priorities
Physical Requirements
Strength- Lift 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 100 pounds.
Stand/Walk- Stand and walk a maximum of 3 hours prior to each break period.
Climb/Balance- Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding and the like using the feel and legs and/or hands and arms. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on a narrow or slippery surface.
Reach- Extend both hands and arms in any direction.
Handle- Seize, hold, grasp, turn or otherwise work with the hands.
See- Obtain impressions through the eyes of the shape, size, distance, motion, color, or other characteristic of objects.
Twist and Turn- Able to twist/turn trunk of body from side to side.
Stoop- Bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist.
Kneel- Bend the legs at the knees to come to rest on the knee or knees.
Crouch- Bend the body downward and forward bending the spine and legs.
