JOB SUMMARY
Temporary summer employees may work in a variety of positions around the district, and may perform duties including:
Routine cleaning and minor maintenance of assigned areas
Major, non-routine cleaning as part of summer cleaning teams
Landscape maintenance including weeding, mowing, edging, top-dressing, etc.
General maintenance tasks, painting, etc.
Assist with inventory of books, equipment, and supplies
Assist with loading and unloading trucks and delivery of materials and books to and from
buildings
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver's license, and have the ability to:
Read and follow verbal and written directions of supervising staff
Work independently with minimal supervision
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective work relationships
Safely lift and carry equipment or books weighing up to 50 pounds
Comply with all district policies and procedures
SALARY $38.28 Hourly. Salary is based upon the current 2025-26 GROUNDS Salary Schedule Salary (Level I); placement on the salary schedule will be determined by Human Resources DOE. FLSA Non-Exempt.
WORK YEAR Temporary Summer Position (hours may vary, 2025-26 school year only)
BENEFITS Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package, for eligible positions. Generally, you are eligible for SEBB benefits if you are anticipated to work at least 630 hours per school year (September 1 through August 31). The School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB) benefits include:
Medical plans with prescription benefits
Dental plans
Vision plans
Life and AD&D insurance
Long-term disability insurance
Medical Flexible Spending Arrangement
Dependent Care Assistance Program
All offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory results of background checks with prior employers and/or character references; satisfactory outcome of a criminal history background check (includes fingerprinting); satisfactory outcome of sexual misconduct information from prior school district employers; and approval by the Northshore School Board.
