NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Natural ResourcesConservation Services (NRCS). These are experienced professionals who providetechnical and professional assistance to the Department of Agriculture for theAgriculture Conservation Experienced Services (ACES) Program.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in Civil Engineering
Valid State Driver?s licenseExperience required with Windows, MS ExcelAutoCAD Conservation Desktop, ArcGIS, PowerPointDuties:
Works with other disciplines to plan, design, review, and install irrigation andother conservation systems primarily within Mesa, Delta, Garfield and MontroseCounties.
Works with other disciplines to plan, design, review, and install irrigationand other conservation systems primarily within Mesa, Delta, Garfield andMontrose Counties. Assists personnel with field investigations and surveysneeded for practice design and implementation and ensures adequacy of thecollected data. Develops preliminary and final designs for structures of varyingengineering complexity. Designs are checked for ease of construction,availability of materials, and whether structures are adapted to the specificsite; requests review and approval at higher levels as needed. Assists ininterpreting plans and specifications for contractors, solving problems at locallevel as to proper interpretation of the plans and specifications. Ensures thatprocedures and products conform to current service policy andstandards. 95%Completes required training. 5%
