We have an immediate opening for a Full-time Groundskeeper. The Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of outdoor grounds and associated facilities. This role involves landscaping, lawn care, seasonal cleanup, minor repairs, snow plowing, snow removal, and the operation of groundskeeping equipment to ensure all exterior areas are clean, well-kept, and visually appealing.

Classification: Full-time, non-exempt, hourly

Reports to: Director of Facilities

Key Responsibilities

Mow, edge, trim, and fertilize lawns and landscaped areas

Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and plants

Maintain walkways, parking areas, fences, and outdoor structures

Remove debris, leaves, snow, and ice as required by season

Snow removal and plowing

Prepare athletic fields and outdoor areas for school events, sports, and ceremonies

Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, snow removal equipment, etc.)

Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on tools, equipment, and facilities

Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance concerns

Assist with setup and cleanup for outdoor events when needed

Work collaboratively with maintenance and facilities staff

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Legal authority to work in the US

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience preferred

Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and equipment operation

Ability to safely handle tools, chemicals, and machinery

Valid driver's license may be required

Ability to work independently and follow instructions

Suitable background check result (CORI, SORI, DCF) and fingerprinting required

CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certified or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire

Physical Requirements

Ability to physically navigate a multi-acre campus and off-site locations

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly

Frequent walking, bending, kneeling, and standing

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
