About Us
Simply Miraculous Fine Gardening is a family and women-owned business specializing in high-end residential fine gardening in Hingham. We care deeply about our work - in plant health, the beauty, and the art itself.

Fine gardening is a distinct craft. It is not landscaping, hardscaping, or construction - it is the skilled, knowledge-driven, hands-on care of ornamental gardens. It requires patience, a trained eye, and a genuine passion for plants and the living landscape.

We are growing, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with us - someone ready to put down roots and become a lasting part of our team.

The Role
Monday through Thursday, 7:30 AM - 3:30/4:30 PM. Hours may vary with workload, weather, and the demands of the season. Fridays may be an optional rain day. Our season runs April through November/December. Compensation is $22-$26/hour, based on experience.

What You'll Do
In the Garden:
- Skilled hand pruning of shrubs and trees - with proper technique, timing, and a true understanding of plant growth habits
- Observing plants closely for signs of stress, disease, or pest pressure and communicating findings to the team
- Meticulous deadheading, thorough weeding, and maintenance of ornamental garden beds
- Applying fertilizers and soil amendments
- Assisting with new plantings, transplanting, and dividing perennials
- Planting and maintaining seasonal container arrangements
- Hand watering plants, containers, and beds during dry and hot periods
- Honoring each client's individual vision for their property

As a Leader:
- Assessing each property upon arrival with a trained eye - identifying what needs attention, setting priorities, and directing the team accordingly
- Organizing and delegating tasks based on each team member's strengths and skillset to ensure efficient, quality work across every property
- Keeping the team focused, on schedule, and working to the Simply Miraculous standard
- Supporting, teaching, and mentoring team members - with eventual responsibility for onboarding newer gardeners
- Maintaining clear and fluid communication with ownership throughout the day
- Completing accurate job documentation and embracing company systems and CRM tools as they are introduced
- Overseeing the proper care and use of tools and equipment on-site
- Driving the company truck and trailer to and from job sites safely and responsibly

Who You Are
- Passionate about plants, plant health, and fine gardening as a true craft
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in fine gardening or horticulture
- Strong plant knowledge and identification skills - ornamental perennials, shrubs, and trees common to New England
- Attuned to plant health and able to recognize signs of stress - formal disease or pest identification training is a plus
- Confident, practiced hand pruning skills with solid understanding of technique and timing
- Experienced leading or supervising a small team - able to delegate with confidence, remain present and aware, read the pace of the crew, and step in to redirect and keep everyone on task as needed
- A compassionate, patient leader and natural teacher - someone who communicates clearly, leads by example, and genuinely invests in the people around them
- Dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and highly organized
- Valid driver's license required; truck and trailer experience preferred - training provided
